On July 1, my new state of Colorado is going smoke-free. If you listen to the nattering nabobs you'd expect that this event will drive all tourists away, shutter all bars and close most restaurants. They say this because this is exactly what happened in NY, California, Florida, Ireland and other places. (Sarcasm intended)
Actually, I think my favorite arguement is that these public health laws are an unfair infringement on business owners rights. If that is true then let's get rid of all health and safety codes. The market will take care of things. If enough people get sick or die from food poisoning then people will stop going to that bar/restaurant.
I mean, really, how many health inspectors have you seen on HBO's show Deadwood?

I was beginning to wonder when you were gonna post again. I've moved back to blogger due to service issues at home. You'll have to fix my linkymabob (thanks for that, btw, I'll return the favor next time I geek around with my template).
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you went. Link fixed!
